About CPPR
The Family Help Center, based in Trnava, has been active for 15 years as a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening family life. It offers counseling, educational events, support groups, and programs for parents and children, while also promoting volunteerism, community engagement, and assistance for disadvantaged families and refugee children.
Role in the project
Within the Smart UA project, the Family Help Center contributes its long-standing expertise in family and community support to promote refugee integration. Its role includes:
- Language and education: providing Slovak language courses, both group and individual, and supporting educational development for children and adults.


- Social and legal support: offering counseling and assistance in employment-related issues and integration challenges.
- Skill-building programs: delivering IT, soft skills, and entrepreneurship training to improve employability.
- Community and inclusion activities: running workshops, creative courses, and recreational programs for women and children, including Fit-dance and art activities.
- Occupational therapy: supporting personal skills and confidence-building through practical training.
- Eko-Wardrobe initiative: continuing its ecological and social project providing clothing and material aid to those in need.
- Research partnership: working with Trnava University’s Department of Sociology to map refugee needs and assess available services from institutions, employers, and communities.

Workshop on Employment for Ukrainian Refugees in Slovakia
The Smart UA project hosted a full-day expert workshop on September 17, 2025, at Mariánska Hall in Trnava, bringing together 46 representatives from organizations supporting Ukrainian refugees. The event focused on key issues like employment, integration, and the recognition of qualifications, aiming to exchange experiences and develop recommendations for smoother integration into the Slovak labor market.

Employment Workshop Report: Employment of Ukrainian Displaced People in Slovakia
A workshop within the Smart UA project took place on January 20, 2026, at Mariánska sála in Trnava. Organized by the Family Help Center (CPPR), the event brought together 53 participants, including experts, institutional stakeholders, and displaced Ukrainians. The workshop focused on the creation of a systemic action plan based on findings from the Trnava University research team. Discussions covered language adaptation, retraining, qualification recognition, and psychosocial support.

Workshop on Housing and Integration for Ukrainian Refugees
The “Housing and Integration” expert workshop, part of the Smart UA project, was held on September 29, 2025, at Mariánska Hall in Trnava. The event, attended by 45 experts and representatives from various organizations, focused on housing and the integration of Ukrainian refugees. Participants shared insights on overcoming barriers and identified good practices for successful integration. The workshop fostered multi-sectoral collaboration and laid the foundation for future policies and projects aimed at supporting Ukrainian refugees in Slovakia.

Enhancing Housing Access for Ukrainian Refugees in Slovakia: Innovative Approaches
Within the SMART UA project, two research reports in Slovakia examined how Ukrainian refugees access housing, focusing on both institutional responses and housing market dynamics. The findings highlight key challenges such as limited affordable housing, administrative barriers, and discrimination, while also identifying promising practices that support more stable and inclusive housing solutions.
