Strategic Planning Meeting: Coordinating the next steps for the One Proposal
20 September 2024|JRS Europe
On September 18, JRS Europe, alongside Xavier Network, JRS International, and JRS USA, came together in a hybrid meeting to discuss the future direction of the One Proposal project. The meeting focused on key elements—project management, fundraising, and communication strategies—all united by a shared goal: continuing long-term support for those displaced by the conflict in Ukraine.
After the meeting, Alberto Ares, JRS Europe Regional Director, emphasized the importance of alignment between the organizations leading the One Proposal response:
“It is crucial that our next steps continue to be equally allied because it ensures that our efforts are well coordinated and we provide the best accompaniment to the greatest number of people. From day one, this joint work has been the key to reaching and exceeding the initial project objectives. We at JRS Europe are very grateful to all of you for this joint effort.”
The Scope of Impact Since the Start of the Conflict
Since the beginning of the international armed conflict in Ukraine, Jesuit organizations have served and supported over 110,000 people fleeing violence. Coordinated by JRS Europe and the Xavier Network, and in collaboration with JRS country offices, NGOs, and local partners, the Society of Jesus has provided aid to more than 97,429 individuals in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. Additionally, 12,883 refugees have benefited from the Integration Fund in second-destination countries.
As the crisis persists, the needs of those displaced continue to evolve. In response, our approach has shifted from emergency relief to medium- and long-term support. This ongoing accompaniment ensures that we address the changing needs of refugees, from immediate survival to sustainable integration into new communities.
This crucial work is only possible thanks to our dedicated teams and the unwavering generosity of people, foundations, and organizations worldwide. We invite you to join us in continuing to serve and accompany thousands of displaced individuals. Your support can make a lasting difference.
