JRS Europe’s Livelihoods Report: building resilience and inclusion across eight countries

25 June 2025

JRS Europe is proud to launch the 2023–2024 report on the Livelihoods Project, a cross-country initiative designed to support the socio-economic integration of refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants. With support from the Linsi Foundation, this project spans eight countries—Portugal, Romania, Malta, Poland, Croatia, France, Germany, and Greece—and reflects a shared commitment to building inclusive, resilient communities.

The report draws on the experiences of displaced people, JRS staff, NGOs, and private-sector partners to evaluate existing livelihood programs and identify innovative practices that can be adapted and scaled. It highlights how targeted training, legal support, and employer collaboration are creating meaningful opportunities for integration.

Key recommendations include expanding flexible, trauma-informed learning paths, strengthening job market connections, and improving access to childcare, digital tools, and language support. The findings offer a roadmap for strengthening livelihoods initiatives and ensuring displaced people can participate fully in their local communities.

By centering the voices of migrants and fostering strong partnerships, JRS Europe’s Livelihoods Project shows how displacement can be met with dignity, opportunity, and lasting change.
