Hospitality opens the door to peace: Paths of Hospitality
25 May 2026
Once again, Paths of Hospitality returns: our global initiative that promotes a culture of solidarity, inclusion and hospitality towards people on the move around the world.
This year’s theme, “Hospitality opens the door to peace”, invites us to respond to a global context marked by increasing forced displacement, driven by conflict and war, climate change, inequality and human rights violations.
Currently, more than 123 million people worldwide have been forced to leave their homes. In many countries, physical and social barriers continue to grow, along with hate speech and misinformation that make welcome and inclusion more difficult, particularly in contexts such as Europe and the United States.
In this context, there is an urgent need to promote dialogue and action that build more humane and supportive responses, rooted in the dignity of every person.
Over the years, Paths of Hospitality has become a shared initiative across the global social and apostolic works of the Society of Jesus worldwide, promoted through the Hospitality campaign of the Social Apostolate in Spain, together with JRS Europe, the Jesuit Migrant and Refugee Service Latin America and the Caribbean (RJM LAC) and its Hospitality Campaign, the International Federation of Fe y Alegría, and GIAN Migration, the Global Ignatian Advocacy Network on Migration.
This year, the initiative renews its Manifesto, a tool for reflection and advocacy that brings together 10 proposals to advance a culture of Hospitality.
We continue to join forces globally: from Almería to Brussels, from Colombia to Gran Canaria, thousands of people keep walking for Hospitality. Discover the planned actions here.
Paths of Hospitality is an invitation to open doors to peace and to continue building, together, a future of welcome and hope for people who are forcibly displaced.
