Volunteer with JRS in Rome! 

Are you passionate about advocating for refugees and displaced people? Join the JRS International Office Advocacy Unit in Rome and help advance global advocacy efforts! 

As part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program, this 10-month volunteer opportunity will immerse you in advocacy work that supports forcibly displaced people and promotes sustainable solutions to their challenges. Gain valuable experience while making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals! 

 

Volunteer Role & Responsibilities: 

As a volunteer in the Advocacy Unit, you will: 

  • Assist in updating and enhancing capacity-building materials for advocacy. 
  • Support the organization of meetings and workshops aimed at advancing JRS’s global advocacy strategy. 
  • Learn about all aspects of international advocacy work, including research, report drafting, and socio-political analysis. 
  • Actively participate in community engagement, working within a multicultural team to support JRS’s mission.

Volunteers receive: 

  • Reimbursement for rent, daily allowances for food, and transport on a real-cost basis (as per the ESC Guide 2024). 
  • Support in finding accommodation. 
  • Professional and personal development opportunities through training and mentorship. 

Participant Profile: 

We are looking for young, motivated individuals who: 

  • Are between 18 and 29 years old (must sign the volunteer agreement before turning 30). 
  • Are currently based in Belgium. 
  • Have a strong interest in advocacy, refugee rights, or related fields. 
  • Are fluent in English (other European languages are welcome). 
  • Have strong organizational and communication skills. 
  • Are comfortable working in a multicultural environment and familiar with Microsoft Office 365. 
  • Experience in E-learning content production is a plus!
